Elk springs resort reviews2/9/2024 ![]() The cabin was not at all as advertised on their website. We just recently stayed in the romantic views cabin (#330) for our honeymoon. When you pull up to the cabin, even the W of "Wine Down" is broken and the porch is covered in spider eggs! Not a very good first impression and it got worse from there! Our advice, STAY AWAY it's definitely not worth the price and not at all what was advertised! … But the lack of overall care and maintenance just made this cabin the absolute worst that we have ever stayed in while in the Smokies. The one positive was the kitchen it was large and well stocked. A little vacuuming and dusting every time with a little TLC could have made this cabin nicer, but unfortunately this cabin was just ran into the ground by the overall lack of maintenance through the years. The basement bedrooms were in similar condition. Under all the beds it's a disgusting mess that has literally not been vacuumed since who knows when! For example, the master bed and next to nightstands there were bugs, thick layers of dust, and debris. The batteries don't work in remotes, a lot of the furniture is not what was pictured, and there are giant spider webs in the corners of the living room and bedrooms. To add insult to injury, when we arrived garbage was on the porch and in the driveway, including a used toilet seat, a box, plastic, and other garbage, the dishwasher had filthy unwashed dishes in it, and the couches and floor had food crumbs and white goo everywhere so we had to clean the cabin ourselves when we arrived! And yet Elksprings charges a hefty cleaning fee! The cabin is decorated (with filthy decorations) for fall but they also left up some dirty Christmas decorations too! It just shows the lack of care. There is stickiness, grime, and dust or dirt on every surface. If we rented a rustic cabin, our expectations would be different, but this is marketed as a luxury cabin. The wicker furniture is a spider nest! The porches are unusable! Nothing looks like it has been cleaned in 10-15 years. This view was completely over grown and porch was not maintained. The cabin may have looked like that 10-15 years ago, but it definitely doesn't now! Burned out bulbs in the lights, broken clocks, sound system unusable, tv didn't work sometimes, screen porch door is missing so it's useless, large stains on the bedroom carpets, stains on rugs, dead bugs in bedrooms all over, view on two porches not the same as shown, patios are completely overrun with webbing, pests, leaves, debris, rotten wood, etc. try the wash cloths.…ĭON'T BE FOOLED! The website pictures do NOT match the actual cabin! Also even the views don't match the website! The lower porch has no views and the website showed open views. To call these "luxury" or "resort" cabins because they have indoor plumbing. Saying you were "responsive" is like a fireman showing up without water to a fire. And when you state you were waiting on parts. ![]() In light of the fact that the paperwork states that mgt does not adjust for inoperative things like hot tubs. The "starter material" they tout consisted of greasy used camping salt and pepper shakers, two dishwasher tablets and sink soap. The wash cloths were more abrasive than the sandpaper I use between coats of varnish. It ran out of hot water before the jets were submersed. We decided to try to make the best of it and fill the jetted tub in the bedroom. The tub was a loss the whole time we were there (5 days). Why not a bag of ice in the freezer? They did not know how to fix the not-hot tub and were going to contact the manufacturer. We were finally told that they knew about the ice maker and were awaiting parts. Yes they respond but do not know how to fix. It never got above 87 degrees and usually hovered at 84. They sent someone out who represented that it was fixed. So after 5 hours in the car we went in search of ice. When we contacted mgt we were told two hours. ![]() Broken ice maker was a solid block of ice.
